Player Tips
Master-Apprentice System
In the world of Destiny Online, you can establish a Master-Apprentice relationship with other players. Thus, new players can get help from the experienced, while the experienced can benefit from helping the new players.
1. M/A Relationship Establishment
If you wish to become a master or an apprentice, you can talk to Wiseman Jarod to put your name on the Master or Apprentice List. You can also view these two lists to see who’s looking for masters or apprentices. To become a master, you must be at least level 55, and you can only accept apprentices that are 30 levels below you.
Once you find the candidate that can potentially become your master or apprentice, you can initiate your request by either talking to Wiseman Jarod or by using the corresponding functions in the M/A Panel (Same as Friend Panel, but on the M/A tab at the top)
2. Benefits of M/A Relationship
The M/A System benefits both the master and the apprentice. The master will receive extra EXP when the apprentice levels up (in the form of Virtue points), while the apprentice gains certain attribute bonus (PA/MA) and EXP sharing (10% extra).
1). Apprentice’s Benefits
When the master is online, the apprentice will enjoy the following benefits:
a. 10% extra EXP for killing monsters
b. Extra PA/MA bonus. The formula is as follows:
Extra PA/MA = (Master’s Max PA/MA - Apprentice’s Max PA/MA) * A Modulus
2). Master’s Benefits
Masters enjoy the benefits of Godsend, Virtue Points and Exp. This is obtained through the leveling of apprentices.
a. Godsend Time
If the apprentice uses Godsend (+20% Max HP and MP, 20% EXP bonus for killing a monster; Duration: 1 hour), the master get can 3 minutes Godsend bonus time, stored at Wiseman Jarod. The more Godsends the apprentice uses, the more bonus time the master can get.
b. Virtue Points
If the apprentice is lower than Level 30, the master has to team up with him/her to get VPs; If the apprentice is Level 30 or higher, the master, whether online or not, will get the VPs each time the apprentice levels up.
c. EXP Sharing
Every time an apprentice of Level 30 or higher kills a monster, some extra EXP will be dedicated to the master (deposited at Wiseman Jarod). The master has to exchange Virtue Points for the EXP.
* Star Rank and Virtue Points
Virtue Point
a) VP can be used to increases the master’s Star Rank;
b) VP can be used to exchange for EXP dedicated by apprentices of Level 30 or higher.
Star Rank
Apprentice’s Extra PA/MA=(Master’s Max PA/MA - Apprentice’s Max PA/MA) * A Modulus
The Modulus above is determined by the master’s Star Rank. The higher the Star Rank, the bigger the modulus.
| Master’s Star Rank | Modulus |
| ★ | 10% |
| ★★ | 15% |
| ★★★ | 20% |
| ★★★★ | 25% |
| ★★★★★ | 30% |
| ★★★★★★ | 35% |
| ★★★★★★★ | 40% |
When the master’s Star Rank reaches the top (7 Stars), he/she will receive the title of “Guru” and get extra attributions as follows: PA: +5%, MA: +5%
Star Rank also affects the EXP dedicated by the apprentice to the master. The higher Star Rank is, the higher the exchange rate is.
| Master’s Star Rank | Exchange Rate |
| ★ | 1: 10000 |
| ★★ | 1: 15000 |
| ★★★ | 1: 20000 |
| ★★★★ | 1: 25000 |
| ★★★★★ | 1: 30000 |
| ★★★★★★ | 1: 35000 |
| ★★★★★★★ | 1: 40000 |
Star Rank Upgrade

The initial Star Rank is 1. You have to upgrade it by consuming Virtue Points.

* How to Claim Master’s rewards
Talk to Wiseman Jarod and choose “I wish to claim my rewards”

a. To claim Godsend Time
Type how many hours you wish to claim and click on “Claim”. Please note that you cannot use Godsend Time until it accumulates to 1 hour.
b. To claim the sharing EXP
Choose whether to put the EXP on yourself or on your pet, and then click on “Claim”. Please summon your pet if you want it to have the EXP.

You need to exchange your Virtue Points for EXP. The exchange rate is determined by your Star Rank. The higher your Star Rank is, the more EXP 1 Virtue Point can be converted into.
Type the number of Virtue points you wish to convert and then click on “Exchange”.
3. Terminating the Master-Apprentice Relationship
You can terminate the Master-Apprentice relationship any time by clicking “Betray”( for Apprentices breaking up with Masters.) or “Expel”(for Masters breaking up with Apprentices.) in the M/A panel. When you click “Betray” or “Expel”, the system will detect the login time & date of your master/apprentice.
1. If your master/apprentice isn’t online for at least 3 days
The system will prompt “You haven’t seen your master/apprentice for X days. You can break up your relationship peacefully.”
2. If your master/apprentice has logged-in in the last 3 days:
a. Master expels Apprentice.
The system prompts “The relationship between masters and apprentices is very precious. Do you really want to break it up? A forced breakup will damage your reputation and decrease your virtue points by 5. Are you sure to proceed?”
Choose “Break up” to confirm. If you don’t have enough Virtue Points, you will receive a system message saying “You don’t have enough Virtue Points to break up the master-apprentice relationship.”
b. Apprentice betrays Master
The system prompts “The relationship between master and apprentice is very precious. You can’t get another master within three days after a forced breakup. Are you sure to proceed?” Click on “Break up” to confirm.

this is a really good system. cheers to that.
my question is, what if neither the betrayed/expelled logged off for 7 days and neither wants a forced break up, will the logging on/off of the either party be monitored forever?
Can you get another apprentice immediately if you expel someone without having official break up?
Finally, how many apprentices you can have?
Sorry I haven’t played the game yet so I don’t know how the system works. I’m still downloading it.

hello ten10,
the master-apprentice system has been improved. you’ll get 10% extra EXP even if your master is not online and you will not lose EXP if you breakup with him.
This article will be updated soon. sorry for the confusing

Will they be updating this page soon? I would like to know what the currant options are for leaving a master. I waited until nearly lvl 36 because I really didn’t want a “master” I would have liked the name “teacher” better but now that I have one, I feel like I am stuck forever or risk losing experience. I like her a lot, it isn’t that but I thought at some point I would graduate as an apprentice, maybe even become a teacher. Also, it says you have to be 30 lvls above to get an apprentice but why don’t you have to be lvl 30 or more to keep them? I am lvl 51 and my master is lvl 68. I wish there was a way to leave peacefully. IF I decided to.

@ImBlueAngel,
You can get your own apprentices even if you’re an apprentice of somebody else.

@Has,
All your master needs to do is stay online and he must be a few levels higher than you.

well, I am a master. and I have 2 apprentices, both are more than 30 levels below me. but every time I check the masters list, I always have 0 share attack…
How do I get it to increase? Do I have to level up? Because I am online for several hours.
