Player Tips
Pet System
Destiny Online features a remarkable Pet system. You can capture any monster in the wilderness and turn it into your beloved pet. They will assist you in combat and accompany you exploring the world of Destiny Online. (Monster Encyclopedia)
If you summon forth a pet to help you in a fight, it will obtain some EXP every time you kill a monster. Like heroes, if a pet has enough EXP, it will level up and get some bonus points that you can assign to different pet attributes.
Initially you are only allowed to carry 4 pets with you but if you give some Pet Cages to Pet Doctor Heather in Golden Plume City, she might help you expand your pet space up to 10.
How to Capture a Pet
(For more details, please click here)
1) Buy a Fairy Rope from a Grocer or your Class Mentor’s Aid and drag it from your Backpack to the Quickbar at the bottom of the window.
2) Beat a monster which you wish to turn into a pet until it only has a little HP left.
3) Right click on the dying monster and then press the hotkey of the Fairy Rope, you will capture it at a certain rate.
Pet Panel
Press R or click on the Pet icon on the right of the window to bring up the Pet panel. It provides you the following options as displayed in the picture.
Summon: To have the pet follow you around.
Recall: To take the pet back. It will disappear from the screen.
Feed: To feed the pet with potions to recover HP or MP, or Pet forage to restore its Loyalty. Moreover, you can use Pet Certificate to teach your pet some skills in the Feed mode.
Free: To release the pet. It will disappear from the panel for good.
Aptitude: To view the pet’s skill, Lifespan, Attack Aptitude and the like.
Pet Operation Bar
Basic Action Pet Skill Pet Mode
Once you successfully summon a pet, a Pet Operation Bar with nine slots will be displayed at the bottom of the window.
Basic Action: The first three slots from left to right are Attack, Follow and Standby.
Follow: To have the pet follow you.
Standby: To have the pet stay on a fixed spot. It will re-spawn around you if you are too far away from it.
Pet Skill: The three slots in the middle display the active skills of the pet. Right click on the icon to continuously practice the corresponding skill or Press the hotkey F4, F5 or F6 to exercise once.
Pet Mode: Right click on the last three slots to switch the pet between different modes.
Attack Mode: The pet will attack any target within its sight.
Defense Mode: Once you are attacked by a monster, the pet will automatically fight back.
Passive Mode: The pet will by no means join in your battle but follow you around.
Pet’s Attributes
(For more details, please click here)
Like a hero, a pet has five basic attributes, Vitality, Spirit, Intelligence, Strength and Stamina, to which you can assign level-up bonus points. They will affect pet’s HP, MP and fight ability such as PA, PD, MA, MD, Hit, Dodge and Critical Hit. Pet’s Loyalty also affects its fight attributes. To maintain the pet’s morale, please keep its Loyalty high by using Pet forage or visiting a Pet Doctor. Two pets of the same level, however, might be different in fighting abilities because their attributes are generated at random when you capture them.
Pet’s Fighting Attributes
HP: indicates the health status of the pet. If a pet’s HP drops to 0, it will die. You can increase a pet’s HP by distributing its Lvl-up bonus points to Vitality.
MP: Essential to skill practicing. You can increase MP by adding bonus points to Spirit.
PA: The ability to inflict physical damage on the enemy. The higher it is, the more damage your pet will cause. You can increase PA by adding more points to Strength.
PD: The ability to resist physical attack from the enemy. The higher it is, the less physical damage your pet will receive. You can increase PD by adding more points to Stamina.
MA: The ability to inflict magic damage to the enemy. The higher it is, the more damage your pet will cause.
MD: The ability to resist magic attack from the enemy. The higher it is, the less magic damage your pet will receive.
Pet Babe
Besides ordinary pets, there are some special “Monster Babes” hidden in the world of Destiny Online. Their attributes are comparatively higher than that of the ordinary ones. What’s more, when you capture them, they start from Level 0. Therefore, you can cultivate them in any way you like.
You can use Juvenescent Dew to reset an ordinary pet to Level 0 and randomly change its aptitudes and skills.
If you team up with other players and summon forth your pet, it will receive extra EXP from your teammates’ training. You can also use some EXP-adding items such as Advanced Manual and Basic Manual to help your pets grow rapidly.
Pet Death
When a pet’s HP drops to 0, it will die.
When you summon it again, its HP and MP will be half of the maximum.
There is no decline in pet’s EXP.
Pet Skill
(For more details, please click here)
In Destiny Online, pets have their unique skills like heroes. You can use Pet Certificates to teach them new skills. Some pets might have a command of a few skills when you capture them.
Let’s take a peek at some of the pet skills.

have you considered maybe having a pet that has a minor heal spell? Then u can be a tank and have a pet healer. That would be cool!

Also, you might consider giving pets (as well as players) a skill like foraging, where they can gather fruit, nuts, or other things that can heal or restore magic pts. from bushes and stuff in various zones. That would make the game a bit more interesting.

the pet submenu of statistics called “aptitude” what do each one of those attribute mean and how do they compare to the pet’s main attributes? In other words, what is this area for? I can’t find any area on the website that describes these.
